The Story
Welcome to
Revigliasco d'Asti
Amid the golden hills of Monferrato, where vineyards alternate with woods and small stone hamlets, lies Revigliasco d’Asti, a village that preserves the most intimate and authentic soul of Piedmont.
Its roots reach back to ancient times: a Roman tombstone discovered in 1948 near the village tells the story of Publius Toranius, a veteran of the 13th Legion.
Since then, time has carved centuries of history into these hills, leaving intact the traces of a proud and quiet community. Over the centuries, Revigliasco belonged to great noble families, but it was under the rule of the Marquises Roero San Severino that the village experienced its most radiant period. This family, among the oldest and most influential in Piedmont, owned fiefs, castles, and lands between Asti and the Roero region, standing out for their elegance, culture, and refined patronage.
Tenuta
Roero San Severino
From this same history is born Tenuta Roero San Severino, which takes its name from the marquises who so deeply loved these lands. The estate is both a tribute to the memory and discreet nobility of a family that shaped Revigliasco’s identity, and an invitation to live the present with that same spirit, elegant, authentic, and profoundly connected to the earth. Today we welcome our guests to a haven of tranquility, surrounded by hills, vineyards, and history. Here, time slows down, the seasons set the rhythm, and each sunset paints the village’s ancient walls in shades of gold.
A stay at Tenuta Roero San Severino is not just a holiday, it’s a journey into the beauty of Piedmont, suspended between past and present, between the silence of the countryside and the warmth of true hospitality.
The Church,
Heart of the Village
In the 1700s, the townspeople asked Marquis Francesco Roero San Severino, Lord of Revigliasco, to build a new church that could worthily embody the devotion of the community. Simple yet majestic, the church rises on the site where once stood humble farmhouses: within its foundations rest the remains of the villagers and parish priests, along with those of Marquis Francesco Amedeo Enrico Roero San Severino, whose tomb, dating back to 1766, is still visible beside the presbytery.
Inside, frescoed vaults, polychrome marbles, and side chapels dedicated to saints narrate centuries of faith and art. It is the spiritual heart of Revigliasco, a place that unites sacredness and beauty, watching over the village and its people for nearly three hundred years.
