very year, at 10:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, the historic center of Revigliasco d’Asti is transformed into the Palestine of the Gospels, bringing the Mystery of Christ’s birth to life through the Sacred Nativity Play. More than one hundred performers in period costume create an immersive experience of popular theater, physically transporting the audience into one of the most moving pages of the Gospel. The narrative text, read by Erika Marello and Giuseppe Contorno, retraces the key moments of the Nativity—from the Annunciation to the visit of the Magi—and is enriched with acted dialogues and monologues, as well as a musical score that alternates instrumental pieces with live songs performed by Ilaria Marello.
In the heart of Revigliasco d’Asti’s historic center, time seems to stand still, giving way to a unique spiritual and theatrical journey. At 10:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, the village will host the 18th edition of the Sacred Nativity Play, an event that involves the entire community and that, year after year, continues to move and inspire hundreds of spectators.
The Sacred Nativity Play is not just a performance, but a shared, collective moment that brings the entire village together in a common effort to rediscover—and help others rediscover—the truest meaning of Christmas: one rooted in sharing, spirituality, and hope. More than one hundred performers in period costume bring to life a powerful work of popular theater, capable of touching the hearts of believers and non-believers alike, transporting them into one of the most intense and moving passages of the Gospel. The narrative text, read by Erika Marello and Giuseppe Contorno, retraces the key moments of the Nativity—from the Annunciation to the visit of the Magi—enriched by poignant dialogues and a musical score that alternates instrumental pieces with live songs performed by the talented Ilaria Marello. Mary will be portrayed by Sara Betta, while Saint Joseph will be played by Alex Rinaldi. Moving monologues, delivered by Riccardo Fassone, Elisa Bifulco, and Barbara Fantino, add further depth and emotional intensity to the storytelling.
As night falls, soft lights will illuminate the streets of the historic center and the first notes of the carols will fill the air. In that moment, the spirit of Christmas becomes vivid and tangible, reminding everyone of the enduring values of solidarity and peace.
Revigliasco d’Asti awaits you, to experience the Holy Night together and to unite hearts and souls in the name of hope.
The performance begins at 10:00 p.m., on Via Bertolotti, along the road leading up to the church.
Free admission.
